In the academic environment for Grades K-2, there is a strong emphasis on standards-based education, which includes a comprehensive curriculum covering various key subjects. Religious education, particularly in Grade 2, involves the active participation of parents and godparents in the Sacramental preparation of their children, in line with the norms set by the Diocese. Language Arts and Mathematics follow the Common Core State Standards (CCSS), ensuring a consistent and high-quality educational framework across these core subjects. Science education is guided by the HCS Science Curriculum Standards, which integrate elements of Science, Technology, Religion, Engineering, Arts, and Math (STREAM), in alignment with the Next Generation Science Standards (NGSS). Social Studies education adheres to the National Standards for Social Studies (NCSS), providing students with a broad and balanced understanding of social sciences. Additionally, the incorporation of community service hours into the curriculum fosters a sense of social responsibility and community engagement from an early age. This holistic educational approach is designed to develop well-rounded individuals with a strong foundation in both academics and values.
